This trap captures both sexes of the Apple Maggot. Offered in two styles: a durable reusable model and the lightweight disposable model which requires the purchase of a hanger wire. Both are designed to trap male and female maggot adults when they are mating and egg laying. The optional apple fruit essence attractant used with the ball trap will greatly increase capture. |

GREEN SPHERE BALL TRAPS |

A specially baited green ball trap is a valuable aid in monitoring Blueberry Maggot. To detect first emergence use Pherocon AM baited traps then follow up with green spheres one week after emergence at a density of 2 traps per acre in high bush varieties. Bait enhancers need to be replenished every 2 weeks. The green sphere is also valuable for trapping Walnut Husk Fly. Fly captures on the trap indicate exact time that egg laying is occuring and control measures can be implemented. No bait required. |
